About Champawat

Champawat is a district in the eastern part of Uttarakhand known for its scenic beauty, rich history as the former capital of the Chand dynasty, and numerous temples like the Baleshwar Temple. The district features Himalayan foothills, tea plantations, and is characterized by a mountainous landscape with many valleys and rivers. It was originally named Champavati after the Champavati stream on whose banks it is located.
